Headteacher’s welcome
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the children, staff and governors to the website of St Oswald’s CE Primary Academy. Hopefully, our website will provide you with all the information you need about our welcoming and vibrant school.
The children are always at the heart of everything we do at St Oswald’s. We continuously aim to make everybody feel welcome and valued and we very much see it as our moral purpose to ensure that we are continuously striving to add layers of enhancement to our teaching in order to provide the best education for all our children. Please see our curriculum statement on our website – this breaks down each of the subject areas and shows our over-arching intent.
As Headteacher, it is my unswerving belief that all our children deserve the very best education in order to equip them with the skills to succeed in their future lives and careers. Every day counts in helping our children to develop strong literacy and maths skills in order to be successful learners.
Our vital role is to provide an engaging and exciting curriculum for children to learn through quality, first hand experiences and to use their imagination. To be successful learners, children need to be able to apply skills acquired from a skills based curriculum to a context based, engaging topic.
As a school, we positively encourage the development of learning behaviours and a strong learning ethos runs through the heart of our school. We ask that our children aspire to achieve their very best and to develop into confident lifelong learners!
I am very proud to be the Headteacher of St Oswald’s and to lead a school of wonderful children and a dedicated team of committed and hard working professionals who work relentlessly hard to deliver nothing but the best for our children.
